About us

History

The AZ/ART Museum of Contemporary Art was founded in the early 2000s as an independent space for free dialogue between artists and audiences. The first exhibitions were held in a small space on Arbat Street, attended by students and young artists.

In 2010, the museum received its own building in the historic center of Moscow. The former factory was converted into an exhibition center with multimedia halls, a library, and a lecture hall. The first permanent exhibitions dedicated to Russian nonconformism and contemporary multimedia art appeared here.

History of the Museum

Since 2015, AZ/ART has actively collaborated with international galleries and cultural centers. The annual "Art and Technology" festivals introduced viewers to VR installations, generative video, and the work of artists working with artificial intelligence.

Today, the museum includes exhibition halls, educational programs, artist residencies, and research laboratories. We strive to ensure that AZ/ART remains a place where new meanings and forms of art are born.

Admission to the museum to view the main exhibition is included in the ticket price. event.
